We have embodied quality in our approach to service users needs and in all aspects of providing this service. We define quality as person centred planning and delivering a service of care appropriate to each individual clients needs. We self regulate and carry out a self assessment which requires all of our policies and work practices to be audited at least annually to ensure that we maintain the standards we have set ourselves. Any areas that require correcting or reviewing will be acted upon so that the problem is not repeated in the future.
The Responsible Individual has a number of duties to perform under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care Regulations (RISCA) which include:
- Overseeing management of the service and ensuring the service is safe, well run and complies with regulations (Reg 66).
- Appointing a manager, ensuring they receive appropriate supervision, support and training (Reg 67).
- Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date, consistent with statement of purpose and relevant legislation and national guidance (Reg 79)
- Carrying out Statutory visits every 3 months (Reg 73).
- 6 monthly Quality of Care review (Reg 80).
As per the RISCA regulations the Quality of care review will consist of:
- Quality of Care to be reviewed Bi-annually;
- Responsible Individual to obtain the views of:
- Service users;
- Representatives of service users;
- Any Local Authority which has arranged for the provision of care to a service user;
- Staff employed by the agency.
